Summer in Art Heaven: St. Paul de Vence, France

I stumbled into St Paul de Vence, a dreamy town tucked in the west of Nice. It’s a picturesque medieval hilltop village known for its narrow cobblestone streets, stone buildings, and vibrant art galleries. Little had I known, that it has long been a haven for artists, attracting figures like Marc Chagall, who spent his final years there. Surrounded by stunning views of the French Riviera and lush countryside, the village blends rich history with a lively cultural scene.

Inside many of the local shops and galleries, I found curated pieces that echo the village’s artistic soul, one of a kind sculptures, delicate glassware, paintings, and prints, all imbued with a sense of place. It was a place to find art treasure that carry the sentiment and memories of travelling; each piece felt like a story waiting to be told, a little fragment of St Paul de Vence to bring home and weave into your own space.

Following that trip, it lead me to wonder, what other charming old towns have yet to be discovered that carry similar experiences of sourcing for art that embrace creativity, celebrate craftsmanship, and layer history with personal expression. It’s attaining artwork from special places like these that make sourcing that much more meaningful.
